They are cross-plane crankshaft and flat-plane crankshaft. Most of the world’s V8s are cross-plane V8, including all American V8s
If this cross-plane design has been all along on Chevy small blocks, then I don't think this is the problem. None of my past Chevy small blocks have had this unique shake.
I have a sort of odd stumble in my idle also. When I increase the gas it smooths out immediately. I thought it might have something to do with the timing. All stock.
