A friend and I installed a RM Racing Twin Flow Intake and we ran into a couple problems. The first and most serious problem is that the filters hit the radiator shroud and prevent the rubber gromets from connecting to the coupler, thus leaving it free to move around and come unhooked from the MAF entirely. Ok, I can't get the picture to show on here, but here's the link: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/1711/notover.jpg
Ok, for some reason this post is adding coding to the link so it won't work right. If you type the link in manually (or copy and paste) it should work fine.
Re: Need help with RM Racing Intake Installation (need4speed170)
Dark, the hood closes without a noticable problem. The gromets just won't latch for some reason. If we really force it, they will connect, but only for a few seconds before releasing. We've tried adjusting the position of the filters and that doesn't seem to make a difference.
Patches, the intake came with K&N filters, I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Does anyone know of a url with installation instructions? I mean, the thing is pretty much straight forward, but it didn't come with instructions and it makes me wonder if maybe we're missing some minor detail.
Re: Need help with RM Racing Intake Installation (need4speed170)
Actually, mine connected but pushed up a little as well. They're still attached but slightly "up".
I was never really concerned about this because the bracket that attaches to the front bumper secures the whole assembly really well.
Also, I just ordered the LAPD high flow carbon fiber air bridge that will be replacing the stock unit. I planned this when I first bought the TwinFlow.
What I did originally was loosen the filter assembly at the maf coupler and pull it towards the front bumper which allowed the air bridge to settle a bit lower.
Funny, I suggested they start including instructions when I had questions about mine and they said they would. That was a couple of months ago.
Re: Need help with RM Racing Intake Installation (need4speed170)
Patches, the intake I received did not include a bracket. After looking at the RM Racing site I can see the part you mean. I think I owe them an e-mail. Thanks for the help.
