Low Coolant Warning
I have my low coolant warning come on a couple of times since I bought my vette a year ago. It seems to happen as I sit on down stop light. I have checked the level in the over flow tanks and it seem fine. So I just brushed it off as a thing that happens with a nose down attitude.
This morning I got it while sitting level.
Any ideas as to what is causing it?

The sensors can go bad.
GM sells both sensor and float as part of the tank. You can R&R the sensor (need new oring) but I don't see how you could repair the float if it is stuck. You can try disconnecting, draining and shaking the tank to free the float.
If you decide to buy a new tank, keep in mind that later models (2000+?) didn't have the sensor or float in the tank.
