Default Some quick emergency help needed!!

BACKGROUND:Over helping son clean out old apartment. Car throws the SERVICE COLUMN LOCK! Just got the CLB and haven't got it in yet(GO figure)Been checking stickys and getting information overload and need to get to the point to get car home. QUESTIONS:: Which is best, try to find fuse 25(is that the one in the foot well or under hood) or just disconnect battery?? Do I need to clear codes? Will I be able to drive it home to work on it?? (Right now I'm getting the fuel cut off) previous owner has had 2 of the recalls done. It's a 2000 FRC (M6 of course) when you insert/remove key lock motor cycles,,but no wheel lock up in or out! Going out to get some tools will check back in a few min. Hope to hear something quick,,gotta go!! thanks in advance!!UPDATE: :Success,,had to get a little creative,,SEE POST 12

i think you are going to have to clear the dic messages before you install the clb. if the problem is present the clb will not fix it but if you can clear the problem with above suggestions the clb will keep it from recurring. clear the bcm with fuse 25 is one method that will hopefully work. the other is to remove the k harness and plug back as original to reset, then install the clb. all the stuff you can do you can find on a clb search or the stickey. keep your fingers crossed and i'll pray for you

Thanks guys,,,UPDATE,Got it in and NO DICE!! Printed out the link from 8vette7.. Since I had read the guide when I printed, I had the Harness exposed and fuse block ready to go in no time!! Had it in ,,still got the message,,followed the instructions pulled #25 waited about 30 min (doing other stuff) put 25 back ,,, no go. Pulled all 3 bcm fuses ,waited 15 min,,still no go.Going to post and ask what the voltage threshold for problems,,did a test and only showed a 12.16 even after a short drive to where the problem started. Alt is putting 14.4 at the battery when running, but 12.16 when you shut her down. Don't know if it is a voltage problem,,or if I have a bum BCM Those directions really sped the process up. By the way just wondering the female plug in ,does it hafe only 2 wires (purple and white) Im wondering if I plugged into the infamous "K" harness,,As it has had 2 0f the recall fixes

DOUBLE CHECK WHAT YOU PLUGGED THE CLB INTO!!!!!!!
YEAH I think I have to put a big DOOOH here!!Had it towed home came in and posted the results,,then did some more searching because the more I thought about it the more it didn't seem right and figured the wires should match from plug to plug in the harness.went back out and contorted under the dash and the factory female is hard fastened to a support,,I had plugged into the K harness. Tried a quick plug in ,it didn't work,,so tomorrow afternoon I'm going to start the install over from square #1 and follow step by step and see what happens. The voltage reading was with a meter at the battery terminals.Don't know if that is a contributing factor or not.12.16 motor off seems kinda low 14.45 at idle seems right. I will keep the other link on standby. Again thanks!! Sure hope I'm going to have a BCM problem!!

VICTORY!! Had to go "Outside the box" though!! Several tries were unsuccessful,,even went so far as putting the K harness to get back to start for a new start for an install,,that didn't work! Finally started by connecting the original factory harness to start over, key to on,pull #25 installed CLB,,,NO GOOD!!! Pulled 25 and waited (per instructions),,,still no good!!Studied fuse diagram and found 2 other BCM fuses,,IDEA!!!! Pulled #13,BCM-11, #23 BCM-2,#25BCM&IPC ,,+ I pulled #29 (read that somewhere in the tons of stuff I read) Waited 10min+ ,,Put them all back in inserted the key turned it on,,,,Low and Behold DIC read ,,,,,DOOR AJAR!!!!!:h urray: Went for a quick test drive and put the dash back together!!! Might post this as it Might help someone else!! Thanks for all who pitched in!! Called Bill Curlee and thanked him as well. Got my CLB For $40 shipped and beat GM!!! Going to hang the "K" harness on my shop wall as a TROPHY!!!
