Default Climate Control Pushbutton Lights

HI,
The pushbutton lights for the climate control dont light up at night when I put the head lights on.
The display is ok and the indicator lights on the pushbuttons work fine.
I read the thread about soldering the resistors for a dim display.
Will this fix work for the pushbutton lights?

Thanks,

Don

No. But one of the boards could have a loose connection at some other point. Not very likley, but all the bulbs for the pushbuttons could be burned out. You could measure the voltage at the corresponding pin on the connector at the back of the head unit. You need a service manual for that.

The resistor fix is only for the display, not the back lighting.

There are 14 lamps that are mounted to the circuit board. Each one lights up when you turn on the parking/headlights. (Not the amber LED's.) They can burn out... and if you are handy with a soldering iron they are a snap to replace.

You can get a two-pack of the bulbs at Radio Shack for about $1.79. I replaced mine when I performed the 'resistor cold solder joint fix.'

Find them HERE:

Hope this helps.
