I can understand not driving in the snow, salt or rain as I will not but the cold weather REALLY wakes up these cars! I can do a burnout the lasts well into second :D
Re: Why put the car away for the winter? (RonWhite)
here in PA they put crushed blue stone on the road for anti skid and it stays till the spring rains come and wash it away. this stuff chips the s--t out of you paint or i would drive mine all winter long when the roads are dry. :chevy

I hear you brother. Just today in Chicago I was out hot rodding in the wintertime as there was no snow, ice or rain in the car. Mine comes out on the weekends year round all long as there is no shet on the ground. No reason to put her in storage as long as road is dry. Hell, its much better to run your car anyways than to have it sit and rot.
Re: Why put the car away for the winter? (RonWhite)
i drive mine yearround, even in the snow and rain. it was tough tonight though, because it rained all day, and it was slightly above frrezing then. it dipped below freezing tonight, with standing water and moisture on all roads. had a tough time coming home - had to keep it in 1st and 2nd gear on all back roads. most secondary roads are slick as heck! had to drive up my street at about 5mph, or i would start spinning and sliding back down the hill.
needss to say, i called it a night once i parked my baby. earliest i have ever been in on a saturday night (10:30pm)
was supposed to meet joeyg, but he hit a deer on the way to meet us! good thing he was driving his ater and not his c5.

Man I'm drunk and I can tell your spelling still sucks. (J/K)
Yes (sober at the time) I hit a deer tonight, and the Honda's feeling the pain. However I have to give props to Tattoooed for driving his beast year-round
P.S. thats not your house in your sig pic by the way. :D
Re: Why put the car away for the winter? (RonWhite)
I agree - temperatures in the mid 40's here in Wisconsin. Vette runs so good in the cool air. Sure makes winter a lot shorter driving the Vette year around when weather is good - works for me.
Re: Why put the car away for the winter? (RonWhite)
I won't drive in crappy weather and certainly not with sand or salt on the roads.... I guess I am hoping that the weather conditions this winter will be good!
Re: Why put the car away for the winter? (RonWhite)
We had about 1 in. snow in the Peoria area yesterday. Was out and about in the Vette when it started, just continued on as would have w/out snow. First real snow here this year, no problems driving. Just enjoy the car, I do.

Look at the cost difference in depreciation, repairs, etc. between Corvettes enjoyed all year by their owners versus those treated as special just-too-precious collector's items. Hardly a difference worth considering.
Sorry, but the only reason for me to own it is to enjoy driving it, but of course YMMV!
