Need help with some codes
Hey all, need some advice on how to deal with these codes.
B0361H Left actuator feedback short to ground
B0367H Right actuator feedback open
B0441HC Left actuator out of range
U1000H Loss of communication undetermined
U1176H Loss of communication with RFA
The car is also throwing lean codes but those are more than likely due to my vararam and power duct. ive checked and all the connections and what not associated with the intake and MAF are all good. Any advice on how to fix the above codes is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The "U" codes I wouldn't worry too much about, probably too much info trying to pass on the network at one time, those are very common.
As for the "B" codes, you can try pulling fuse #27 in your passenger footwell for at least 60 seconds. When you put it back in, the HVAC will reset and try to recalibrate your actuators. You should hear the actuators cycling. If that doesn't work, then you most likely have a bad actuator(s). Some have had luck removing and re-indexing them, others just have to be replaced. Here's a link for getting the drivers side out, and the re-indexing procedure. http://vette.tnreeds.com/actuator/actuator.htm
Unfortunately the PS requires removing the dash pad to access it. Here's a link with pics after dash removal. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1&postcount=68
Note the DS is also accessable from the top.
I fixed mine by turning the HVAC system OFF, then clearing the CODES in the DIC that appear in the HVAC system. When you clear the DTCs, you will hear the actuators cycle and recalibrate. Once they stop cycling, turn on the HVAC system ON and see if the DTC comes back. I had to do this procedure 3-4 times in a row and it worked. It has not reappeared since.( 5-6 months later. )

Thanks for the feedback. I cleared them and they havent come back so we'll see what happens. My buddy whos a SAE certified mechanic at a shop that does a lot of work on vettes said it could be a bad ground so i'll try that as well if the problem comes back.
Not all of the components in your car are connected to chassis ground. Some circuits have a signal wire and a low side wire that connects to the module. The HVAC Actuators are one of those circuits.
Either the actuator is out of range, or damaged inside. One of the gears inside the module can crack.
If the recalibration process doesn't work, it might be time for a new actuator.

Rog. The recalibration has worked so far so we'll see how long that lasts. Im guessing the part is overly expensive to replace per the usual? My car is still under warranty, dunno if its covered though.
