Default Parking Brake Adjustment

Hey Guys,

I have been having a troubled time removing my rear rotors from my '03 but I finally have them broken loose of the hub(3 day project, so far, how ridiculous) However, now that the rotors are free, they are hung up on the parking brake. It has been released from inside the car and I have detached the parking brake spring from the rear of the rotor/hub so there should be no tension on the brakes, what-so-ever. But as I am trying to remove it, I can see where the parking brake meets the rotor's inside, that the rotor is hung up on the parking brake assembly. Now I had read before that you can adjust the parking brake via the star wheel that is designed for this purpose. I can not find it on the wheel to save my life. This is the only thing I can think of to get that DAMN rotor off. Can someone please tell me how to adjust the parking brake to provide me with the slack I need to get the rotor off?

Thank you so much for you assistance.

AWard.

You need the rotors off to adjust the single shoe brake. Just keep smacking the rotor around and around. Even if the brake is a tad engaged, you can still get it off. Now if you are getting new rotors, have a smack fest on those little bitches

check out this forum members web page... It has a pic of the back side of the hub focusing on the star wheel.
