Default Gear grinding!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK installed pisc2 and put my 500 break in miles on it. Stock clutch wouldn't hold it. So Replaced with SPEC stage 2+ clutch and aluminum flywheel. Also put in new slave. Now almost 500 miles of start and stop driving my clutch should be broke in. Couldn't wait to try it. So Run out 1st 2nd gear and shifted to 3rd and missed the gear. HMMM never really missed that gear before so tried it again later making sure pedal was to the floor. And it still wouldn't get in gear. Normal driving it does fine.SO I NEED SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!

Try bleeding it again. Seems odd that it will go into all other gears OK, almost makes you think it's tranny related?

I bled it after 260 miles and checked again around 450 and it was still clear. The clutch isn't sticking to the floor or anything. And it isn't third gear only. It also does it going into second and fourth. It seems after everything is heated a little it does it. I left a car show Sat night and goosed it broke the tires until 5800rpm then turned in the turn lane. Waited for another car to go by and ran first gear and missed second. Talk about tucking my head between my legs. All that power means nothing if you can't drive it.

Don't feel bad, mine does it to. It behaves the worst when I get a good run going. Lately mine is missing the 3-4, the easiest shift in the world. Other times I've missed 1-2 shift . The Tex clutch holds the power but I can't powershift it. I have PM's from several other members that have strongly suggested an adjustable master. This one from Tick just came out and have heard good things. I'm not sure it will guarantee 100% to fix the problem, but may be worth a try. Search Tick performance at LS1Tech in the Manual Trans section. If this doesn't work for me, I will probably goto a twin disc...

That definetly looks like it could fix the problem . When will you be installing yours? I would love to know how it works for you. I will probably order one anyway and keep my fingers crossed.

This helped my 98 tranny. Had the same 3rd gear grind under spirited shifting. Worked fine during normal driving.
Just changing the trans fluid to synthetic ATF "ELIMINATED" the problem. Try AMSOIL ATF. It is compatible with all C5 tyranny's and work! Its the least expensive repair if it works.

I have not done an alignment. However when the B&M shifter was reinstalled after the clutch I thought it was aligned. How would I go about aligning this thing?
