I see by your sig you have a '97. That code will not delete on the '97s, it's always gonna be there. It's part of the TC/AH control system. Chances are it's been there a long time. There have been a few post about it lately, I'll try to find them.
EDIT: OK found it!
Are you getting any messages on the DIC regarding Traction Control or ABS?
If so, check your codes when the message appears, before you shut the car off, and see if the P1571 has an H or C after it. If your aren't getting any warnings, then it's probably been there for a while.

ASR Desired torque, that code lives in my pcm. I never know it's there till I check the codes. If I clear it the code will be back in no time. Mine is a 97 also. Don't worry about it..
