Default Winter storage question

Plan on renting a place to store the vette this winter. What about pulling the battery, backing off the lifters as I have a high lift cam, anything else?

Noooo...... don't say winter yet.

Other items I can think of, tires upto or just a little over pressure, oil change, full tank of gas, wash and wax.

Assuming it is indoor, crack the windows a 1/4 inch to help any moisture escape.

Put bounce fabric softener sheets under the seats, in the trunk, tail pipes, etc. to keep the criters out.

Seeing where you live I wouldn't bother putting it away for the winter. You really do not get much snow and the few days that it snows just don't drive the car. I live in a much higher snow area and drive my car year round. Even in the worst winters there was always at least one day a month that I could go out and put 35 to 40 miles on the car. You wouldn't believe the pick me up hopping into the Vette gives on a cold dark day after a tough time at work. I don't drive on snowy or wet roads but will drive on dry roads that may have a little dry salt and sand on them. Been doing this with Vettes for a quarter century now and I can tell you it doesn't hurt them and is far better from a car maintenance standpoint than storing them. They were designed and built to be driven not stored.

Thanks but this is kinda my baby that I do not drive daily. I take her to the drag strip. Burtha as my wife calls her does not see rain or inclement weather. I have a three car garage with one bay dedicated to a wood shop so my suv stays outside. This year I am putting the vette in storage so I can park the suv in the garage. I hate having to scrape the windows in the morning. I lived in Wyoming for 21 years and can't stand having to warm up the rig in the morning.

Thanks, but what about pulling the battery? Any issues with the PCM?

Absolutely no issues pulling (or simply disconnecting) the battery. I do that every winter for storage, and never a problem.
