I'm thinking about ordering my exhaust tomorrow and am leaning toward the Corsa Indy's. Don't worry I've read all the various posts about the different aftermarket exhausts and think the Indy's are what I want. The question I have is what x-Pipes have been paired with the Indy's and is there a sound/performance difference between the Corsa X-Pipe and the Bassinni?
Thanks,
Tom
With my motor and LT headers, the Indy's were a little loud for my taste, too much popping on deccel. I get enough attention from the boys in blue as it is. I have the X pipe currently on sale from Exit 28, (support the forum) and it's perfect for me. If you read their ad, it just about says it all. It's more mellow at low throttle/low rpms, but still screams at wot/higher rpms.
I have the Indy's and Bassani X. I ordered the Touring version first and had them installed. Because the exhaust was really bent when it came in, Corsa replaced them. I thought the Touring was too mild and I opted for the Indy's.
Much better for me. The X-pipe does not eliminate all the popping but does minimize it. Make sure you get all the instructions and parts when they come in. Mine were missing and I had to order and reschedule installation twice. The exhaust also requires a lot of adjusting so don't think it bolts right on directly from the factory. Also, if you have an A4, watch the clearance from the right over-the-axel pipe to the transmission pan. My first set was jammed tight against the pan. The second set was better but I flattened the pipe slightly to create more clearance. I also needed to get rid of the stupid TORCA clamps and ordered 4 stainless steel muffler clamps. Those other clamps kept slipping.
The sound is great and interior-wise, you cannot tell the difference from factory. Normal driving and acceleration is agressive but not obnoxious. WOT is another story. It will get some attention but again, not obnoxious.
Good Luck...George
My 2000 FRC has the Corsa Indy and Bassani X-Pipe combination. Moderate acceleration and highway cruising produce a mellow sound and no resonance (6th gear and 1500-1700 RPM). Full throttle produces a great sound and the sound when you take your foot of the throttle is delightful, with only a minimum of the popping noises. You will like this combination. My Miencke muffler shop did the install in a little over an hour, the tips (GTR's) are aligned perfectly and all of the joints are weled in addition to the clamps provided. The cost here in California was $90.00. Hope you enjoy the exhaust system as much as I do.
Re: Corsa Indy's and X-Pipe Question (Raymond Niedzwiecki)
Got them installed today and man I love it. I like how it's quiet idling but when you start punching it on an on ramp the system comes to life.... This mod fever is getting expensive. I'm thinking headers next!

Tom, I am glad you are happy with the results of the Xpipe and Exhaust! I knew you would love the sound. The sound improvement is almost as good as an extra 50rwhp... Well, almost :)
Let me know if you need any information on headers. That is definitely a step in the right direction for your next mod.
CarolinaC5....Check out my home page for the full install pics of the TPIS headers, NO CATS,Corsa Indy's,x-pipe.You want mean and nasty at WOT!!... but quiet and reserved during cruising..Try it you Will like it :yesnod:
