Head unit install prob please help
I installed a new head unit in my car yesterday along with a amp and comp. And 2 subs... My problem is that when i go to start the car there is a 2 sec. Delay before it starts. The car runs fine the sterio is awsome but there is that delay.
I got the acc. Power though the yellow wire in the kick pan. Its almost like the pcm is serachin for the sterio and when it powers up and gives a signal it starts

I didn't have that problem when I put my system in. Did you run a separate power lead from the battery directly to the amps? If you remove the accessory lead for the head unit, do you still get the delay? Did you run your power lead for the amp away from any wiring harnesses in the vehicle? If not, re-route it so it is away from any other wiring, and if you have to go over existing wiring, try to do it at a 90 degree angle. You can get induced voltage into the wiring harness if the power lead is run parallel and that could be the source of your trouble. I hope this helps.
