John had mentioned the possibility of up to 10 or 11 dates. Is this still possible?
Finally, do you get to race this year?

Those PM dates mean more late dinners for us. You may want to think about spending the nights though cause you could be getting home in the wee hours if you don't. If you don't mind my bulldog, I can offer my pullout, provided it is not being used my my inlaws.
As for Dennis, Hopefully he does get to race this year. It all depends on how the final details shake out.
We run this thing mostly on volunteer power and someone has to volunteer and I appreciate Dennis doing this.

Autocross?!!
Best cold air improvement in ET!!
Edgar, thanks for the offer. You are right. After a good NJ dinner and a day of racing, I'm done. Can't wait for Spring.

As you can see by this post we will have 10 races this year with the first 8 being points races. This is being done so hopefully we will have the points jackets by our last race.
As a series we have come of age. We are now being considered/treated the same the other points racing series at E-town ie: Real Street, Import, Heavy, ect. This is a great accomplishment and I want to thank all the racers who have made this possible. We as Corvette owners are the first single CAR MODEL to have a legitmate points racing series at E-town.
Not the f-body or Mustang have this type of series.
Guys this is BIG. REAL BIG!!!!!!!!
Please continue to check the forum and our web site for future updates and how and when to sign up for this points series.
Again thanks to everyone and great job Dennis.
John

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

We have gotten 58 cars to race at one of our events and we are growing big time. Don't wanna set goals too high, but I don't see wehy we could not have 100 cars are one of our events this year.
You can read all about it if you go to our web page at http://www.corvettechallenge.info

On a lighter note, I will thank you and everyone involved with making the Corvette Challenge a success and give a place to abuse our vettes:) :)
About the PM times, I LOVE it. Less baking ouside at high-noon. I got some serious sunburn at a few of the events last year. :yesnod: Plus, I can still come early and run the daytime event for practice.

John, I agree with Pat the Cruise In and appreciate your reasoning for having a race that day.
Anyone who is serious about the points series aspect of the Corvette Challenge is now faced with a difficult predicatment. I myself am no strongly considering not going to the Cruise In.
Last years series winner was decided by 1 point. 7 drivers missed the 5th and final jacket earning spot by 3 points or less. Surely we can see how 1 event can make a difference in a points series.
I agree that as much as the Challenge has grown, the that % of drivers going to the Cruise In is small compared to some of the turnout we had last year, but the Corvette Forum is where the Corvette Challenge has it's roots.
I would like for you to consider making the Memorial Day race a non-points race. Bring the total points races to 7.
Food for thought

I respect all of your opinions but lets get real, I had to Kiss A## TO GET 10 RACES. The only reason the last 2 are not points races is that , yes, we want to have the points done early to get the jackets for the last race for the photo, but also because those races will be during trophy M. AND I DON'T WANT TO HEAR, all the crying about "those guys getting more runs than us. Those last 2 races maybe TM against ourselves. That would be fun.
Now If you guys were running the saturday Real Street PROGRAM and they had a race that night would you 4 or 5 guys going to BG be crying to the track about that??????? I must think of the whole group. I'm glade your all going to BG to represent all of us in the Northeast and nothing would make me prouder than if One of you won again this year, like Frank did last year.
Remember I made the TOP 16 for the last race and missed 1/2 the races. You don't need to run all the races to finish high in the points, just ask Fred Vetter.
Sorry, I try to please everyone but sometimes you just can't :(
john

I will cancel my trip to BG because I am not as good as Fred Vetter or yourself and cannot afford to give points away.
So count me in as a REAL racer:)

John, I appreciate all the hard work you and Dennis put into the Challenge but I do enjoy getting together with the Corvette Forum guys. I most likely will not cancel my reservations for the Cruise In. Considering that this Challenge is really a derivative of the Forum, I would have expected a little more sensitivity but that is your prerogative.
I guess I will have to evaluate the feasibility of joining the Season Point series if I already know that I will be missing 1 of the eight point’s weeks. It probably doesn't make sense.
