Today I got code PCM 0171 Fuel trim system lean bank 1. Is there a usual culprit for this or a series of possibilities.

Culprit is usually an aftermarket intake. Clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does, immediately run out and buy headers, a cam, and exhaust and then get it tuned. (tell your wife that is the only solution)

I was getting that code about every 2 weeks at random, I cleared the code, It was always a H code when I checked, I took my car in for warranty work on the HVAC display and they told me I had a intake leak, They fixed the leak and haven't had the code as of yet. Not saying that is your trouble.
