Default Tire Size

I have 1999 FRC. I am changing my wheels and tires to the later model C5 ZO6 size tires and wheels. The Cheverolet dealer tells me the rear tire OD difference 275/40ZR18 at 26.6" OD versus the new tire 295/30ZR18 at 25.0" OD will cause problems with the speedometer, Active Handling and ABS. Supposedly the ECU can not be changed / flashed to compensate for the difference in tire sizes. Has anyone had experience with this? I would appreciate any information that will help. I have already purchased the wheels and tires.

That tire is way too short, use 295/35/18 for the rear & 265/40/17 for the front (stock C5 ZO6 sizes).

The Z06 tires at 265/40/17 front (25.4 diameter) and 295/35/18 rear (26.1 diameter) will work fine although the speedometer will be off just a little. If you go to the 295/30/18 then you will have trouble with Traction Control and your speedometer will be off a little more than with the stock Z size.

How is he right if he left the customer thinking the stock tire size of a Z06 is 295/30ZR18?
Had he educated the customer we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension skills man.. Read it SLOWLLLLY. The dealer told him the tires he bought will not work! They are right THEY WONT. THat is how they are right

Oh I didn't read the last sentence of the original post.
I thought the dealer just let him go out the door thinking the 30's were stock Z06 tires. I thought the guy was trying to BUY tires at the dealer. OK my bad.
Dealer is still a dim bulb.
