Do a search on the message you will find a number of post on this topic as I have the same problem. Recommendations are to check both the battery terminals and the battery cable down to the starter make sure contacts are clean and tight. I've not done either and still get this message evey so often it goes away and the car runs fine and always starts. Amp gauge starts around 14 then falls back to a range of 12.5 -- 13.5.
The only time I ever saw that message on my '99 was just before the positive battery post fell off and it started dumping acid. Check your battery cables, alternator wire, battery cable at the starter and between the battery and fuse box, there is a ground on the frame.
The battery terminals both look good. Connections are good and tight. Looks like I'll be crawling under the car this weekend to check the starter connection.
I too have an intermediate flashing of the "charge system Fault" I have checked grounds, battery connections etc. It comes up every 2-6 months. And it only comes up once and it clears, then it won't come up again for, 2-6 months.
