It depends on your resources.(lift, etc). I think that most talented greasemonkeys could do it. Check out ls1howto.com . The second time is always a breeze! Good Luck!

That has some great pix and helped me alot. Its for the diff, but you need to drop the tranny and diff to replace the clutch. I would say if you are mechanically inclined you can do it, if not I wouldn't try it. I have done it a few times and could probably swap a clutch in 4 hrs or so beginning to end. It does help that my friend has a lift and lot's of tools.

I did mine without a lift. Not hard at all, just takes some time your first time. No, there is not a bunch of ways to do it. Drop the drivetrain and pull the torque tube from the bellhousing, DON'T try to pull the motor. Trust me, I wondered the same thing, and now after having done it, pulling the drivetrain is much easier. the entire rear clip drops with four nuts. Then lower the drivetrain on a jack, NOT TOO LOW! Unbolt the torque tube and voila! there's the clutch! It will prove useful to have an extra set of hands to help guide and balance the heavy stuff.

Cheap tranny jacks at harbor freight. My only tip is don't jack the car too high cause then your jacks won't reach. Oh and of course add a remote bleeder.

What the hell is everyone talking about remote bleeders for? Totally unnecessary. Serves no purpose. My new RAM slave was a self bleeder. Don't know about the others but they should be too.

Remote bleeder makes bleeding the clutch much easier, especially after its all together and you want to do a fluid flush. Mine is located right at the power brake booster so I can fill and hold the bleeder into a bottle at the same time. My better half does the pedal duty

Never seen a self bleeder. I added a remote bleeder because it's almost impossible to reach the factory bleeder screw. It made the original bleed process simple. And as already posted future fluid changes will be a snap. So they do serve a purpose and aren't totally unnecessary. $50. is money well spent on this item.

Which intake? I found I had to remove the FAST for the clutch.

I thought the same thing until I read the write-up regarding the DTE brace install (very good write-up, but still over my head ).

Apparently when lowering the rear, it torques the entire engine backwards and forces the intake and rear of the engine to make contact with the firewall. Too much of this can crush your firewall.

Apparently our torque tubes have a picture on them warning of this.

And that is one of many reasons why I will never install my own clutch

The FAST was getting precariously close and it has been ported, so the investment in it is big. Wasn't worth the risk, it comes off in 10 minutes, so I just pulled it for the clutch swap.
