I have a 2002 C5 and want to change the intank fuel pump to a walbro 255, that I bought from a friend. I have the fuel pump assembly out of the car but I don't know how to get the fuel pump out of the assembly. Can any one help?

from the lookis of this I have to replace the whole assembly and cannot change just the pump. I have the pump the goes inside of that white assembly case.

That's what the instructions cover......not sure where the confusion is, I used a similar procedure when I did mine.
Mike, he's referring to replacing the mechanical pump itself, located within the white plastic 'can'. Lingenfelter supplies you with a new pump already installed within the can. Apparently he's only got the pump itself, like I did. the pump and housing can are meant to be replaced as an assembly; I had to cut the housing can in half to get to the pump.
Clear as mud now?
I just replaced my stock fuel pump with the Lingenfelter high capacity pump (part of the A&A V-3 supercharger kit). The stock white canister was retained and the mechanical pump inside the canister itself replaced. That's what the Lingenfelter website instructions explained. The only problem I had was when pulling the plastic flexible fuel line off the pump male stub, the metal grommet on the end stayed inside the plastic tubing. It came out easily with a pair of needlenose pliers. But getting the platic tubing back onto the new stub of the new pump was about an hour of cussing and bloody knuckles. Been on for a couple months now, no problems, and my car does 7.35 in 1/8th mile with 60# injectors. But if the fuel gage gets below 1/16th of a tank, you can't go WOT or the injectors will starve and the car will bog down violently. Keep the fuel level higher and it will pin your ears back. If your having trouble following their instructions, call Lingenfelter for help.
