f45 question

Do yourself a big favor and put some real shocks on your car. Ditch the F-45 system (To me its a BIG waste of money) (Yes,,,I had one on my 98) and up-grade to 08 C6 ZO6 Shocks. Their a DIRECT BOLT IN afternoon project.
Heres what you will need to do:
Disconnect the F-45 controller and DO NOT reconnect it after the F-45 RPO code is removed from the BCM!
Have someone program the F-45 RPO out of the BCM using the GM TECH II. Its a very easy and common thing to do. If the dealer does it, it will cost you about $50-$75. Once the F-45 option is removed from the BCM, remove the controller from the rear compartment, the shocks and shock position sensors from each wheel and then install the new shocks. Then enjoy your superb handling. Once you have new shocks you will notice that you have better handling.
To get the car to handle flatter, you can find some used (or new if you desire) Front and Rear ZO6 Sway bars with metal end links. Thats another easy afternoon project
With the new C6 ZO6 shocks and C5 ZO6 sway bars, you will wonder why you waited this long to an upgrade!

I would electrically disconnect each shock ( you will get messages and codes while their disconnected, but don't worry) and drive the same route where you see the issue and see if you feel the same problem.
Once your done, you can connect them back and clear the messages and codes.
That will tell you if something is actually changing the shock valving electrically.

With all due respect, if you do want to eliminate the F45 shocks (I've done several), just cut the wire coming into the top of the shock, strip the pig tail and solder in a 10ohm 10 watt wire-wound resistor (get 'em at radio shack for less than $4.00), cover the resistor with waterproof tape, zip tie the pigtail out of the way, and install your new shock. You don't need to shut anything off or have someone screw with your computer. The computer mistakenly "thinks" the resistors are the F45 shochs and you will NOT get any codes.
However, I'd still like to know what makes you so sure its the shocks that you hear.
