Have a 99 vette, Unable to put air into the valve stem. LF Tire...Is this a problem with the Entire sensor, or could it be as simple as the little screw in air valve ...Air will come out of the tire, but at different pressures from my compressor, will not go in????
Yes I have put air into other tires with this same hose, and it works s...so its the valve not, my equipment..
Has anyone ever heard of this before?????In all my years playing with cars, its never happened..so Im just wondering, if it could be as simple *** unscrewing ths inner valve?? LOU
Sounds like you need to replace the valve core. I had the same thing happen to me. One of my valve cores began to leak and I had to tighten it to stop the leak. However, after tightening, it was screwed in to far to allow the valve to open and allow air to enter. Replaced it with a new valve core and all was fine. I got the valve cores from Autozone. The one that you need is the short type. The Monkey Grip brand was the one that I used.
Do you have aftermarket valve caps... particularly the ones with Corvette emblems on them? Some of these valve caps have an "O"-ring in them instead of a flat plastic washer. The "O"-ring fits nicely down into the valve stem of the TPMS stem and restricts it's ability to accept air.
Check in the valve stem for the "O"-ring and if it's there use a small hook to pull it out. Once it's out it will accept air fine.

Good luck... GUSTO
This just happened to me !!!Boy do I feel dumb!I could not see the o-ring in the garage,I had to be in the sunlight to see the little o-ring !!!

Same thing here !! The o-rings stays in the valve stem.
Those aftermarket corvette valve stem caps with the o-ring can also cause your tire to loose air over time as well by getting stuck in the stem and causing air to leak out. Don't ask me how I know. That's probably why you were filling it with air anyways if it was going flat on you. They look nice but can cause some problems if over tightened. Now I just use the chrome caps from autozone with a flat washer inside.

There are valve stem caps out there (had one) that have solid sheet rubber thin seals inside the caps and the rubber seals can LODGE in the valve stem and also prevent air from entering the valve stem.
This is exactly what happened,,The O ring from the aftermarket valve cap, got iintio the valve stem, and when I went to put air in the tier, it got pushed into the valve, where it did not show, until we pulled the tire off, and tried to take the inner core out, then the tool woould not work, so after further inspection, and WEhat the hell is theis black rubber in here!!! oh, its the o ring from the aftermarket valve caps.....Can you believe this one.....???
I guess thats a new Warning that should be on the package...".BEWARE these caps can cause aggavation"
