My 2000 Coupe with manual trans has an odd feel to how it accelerates. As you go through the gears and keep an even pressure on the gas pedal there seems to be several different levels of preformance. During a regular acceleration up to highway speeds it seems to have a drop off in power @ 2200 rpm unless you give it more gas. Same thing in all gears. It seems to have plateaus. I would guess that this isn't normal. This is the only Vette C5 I have ever driven so I don't have another car to compare. In other words the accelration in not linear. What the heck? Is this normal.

Bone stock car.
Thanks

Jeff,
I know that I don't have this kind of issue in my 2003 Z, which is pretty much stock as well. I would replace the fuel filter first. Also be sure to run some high octane injector cleaner to see if that evens it out a little. It could just be some buildup in there. I pulled my throttle body off a couple weeks ago and it was pretty glazed with a light brown (dust) layer that seemed to be affecting it. Cleaned it with carb cleaner, reinstalled, smoother ride since then. Just start with the little stuff like this before you start going crazy with it.
You might also spray-clean the MAF using electrical parts cleaner. Also look at the PCV valve connection tube to the intake. They can develop hopes in them causing acceleration issues from a stop..surging, choking type whatever..
