Default Apology to TSP

Not too long ago I posted this thread:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...994&highlight=

Basically I blamed TSP for the damage to my Salve Cylinder due to the fitment of their headers.

I have since replaced my transmission and slave and the shifting problem still exists. Also, the slave was fine when I took it out and was not damaged as I was told by a supporting vendor

I have decided to forget dealing with any vendors for installations and to do the work myself that way I could guarantee it was done properly myself.

Anyhow, I have since learned that my shifting issues is a direct result of the Master cylinder not moving enough fluid to fully disengage the aftermarket clutch at high rpms. Continuing to drive like this and try to bang gears ended up hurting the syncros in my transmission. No damage was caused due to the TSP headers.

Now that I know the Master is the issue, I have just swapped in a new tranny and slave last weekend and the car is going to not be driven until my Tick Performance Adjustable Master arrives and is installed next week.

Even tho my TSP drivers side header is still touching the bell housing there is no possible way it is transmitting enough heat to do anything to the slave.

I waited entirely too long to contact TSP about the drivers side header so they are correct in not replacing it. While it does cause some vibration issues I will deal with it for a while until I can buy another set of TSP headers.

I just wanted to apologize to a forum vendor publicly since I bad mouthed them publicly as well. We all make mistakes and I surely made one here placing blame on TSP. Hopefully in the future they will still let me buy stuff from them

Thanks,
-Jason

Classy post....

BUT in regards to your problem....

What you need is a clutch master that will move more fluid VOLUME....meaning a larger bore piston design so each pedal stroke moves more fluid for additional slave cylinder engagement of the clutch plate and better clutch release which is what yuo are looking for.

An adjustable clutch will only effect your pedal height....it wont do squat for additional plate departure of your clutch and better shifting abilities....UNLESS its also got a larger piston in addition to being adjustable like the one McLoed sells. If its the same bore size, the amount of pedal travel is fixed and ultimately nothing will be different concerning your clutch disengagement.

Dont waste more money and time without a better understanding of this situation....

Feel free to buzz me at AFR if you need further clarification

Tony

PS....The large bore master isn't a free lunch btw (why is that always the case?....LOL). The downside is that you will have a slightly stiffer clutch pedal....the upside is higher engagement points and cleaner faster shifts if you can take advantage of that.

Tony,

The Tick Performance Adjustable Master has a larger piston and is adjustable. It is well documented over on LS1Tech if you search under "Tick Performance Master."

It has corrected many peoples shifting problems that are identical to mine. I have seen the proof and read the happy customers posts that can once again power shift through the gears.
I cant wait to get it installed Hopefully it will be here in time for this weekend.

I can not believe this high rpm shifting problem is not well documented here on CF. It is all over the place on LS1tech, I spent an entire afternoon reading up on all the posts about it.....I wish I would have known this months ago

Either way I will post up in my other thread the results I see
