Default 20" tire recommendations

I just had a blowout and need to replace my rears. I'm hoping to get some recommendations from you all.

The wheels are 20x11" and currently I have Nitto NeoGen 305/25/20's. I'm not too satisfied with this particular combo. The sidewall height is a little low for my preference and the tread width seems too narrow. The rim sticks out past the tire. I have 19" wheels on the front but don't know the tire size off hand.

I'm thinking of a 295/30/20 or 305/30/20. Ideally I'd go for a 315/25 but they are just too pricey right now.

I've found some Toyo Proxes 4 295/30's for $190
and
Toyo Proxes T1R 305/30 for $320

Anybody know of any better deals out there or recommend for or against those sizes/tires?

Thanks.

I have 305 25 20 Pirellis on an 11" rim and I have to say no to them. One of the first pair I got had a factory pinhole and another has an extreme slow leak. The downside of buying from Tirerack.
I think you are going to have the low sidewall issue with any in this profile. The Toyo prices you got look great but the 295 will be too skinny. You might want to compare the Nitto width to the 305 Toyo too. There is as much as 1/2" width difference in the same profile from one manufacturer to another

If I were buying new wheels I wouldn't go with 20s again. Too little selection for rubber and I hate the low sidewall.

Yeah but how many miles do you expect or have you gotten out of the drag radials? How do they do in wet weather?

I would recommend Nitto INVOs in a 315/35ZR20 (11" rim width required)...I have them & these are great tires & are priced right thru www.discounttire direct.com

look here: http://www.nittotire.com/#index.tire.invo.sizes

Do the 315's fit without a mini-tub? I have the INVOs in 305/25-20 and would would like something a little wider if possible (no rubbing, ect).

I've got 100K invested in my car, and wouldn't put anything else on my car. They do great in wet weather, and as for the miles I get. That all depends on how you drive your car, but I've got more then 8K miles and still have 45% of tread left...

Many of those tires are way too big in diameter. I am surprised there are no rubbing issues especially with the 305/35-20 as they are 10% larger than normal. I would like to see pics of these tires mounted and know if there are rubbing or other issues?

I have th TOYO 315's on 19" CCW 505A's and they fantastic. They do NOT rub and do not hit the fenders! Running 20" rims leaves you VERY LITTLE shoulder side wall height PERIOD! Unless your showing the car, I cant see the point of running them. How did you have a blowout?

My 19" have minimal side wall and Im also limited on tire selection running 19 X 11.5 rims. Just as my 305 25 20 Pirellis wore out, NITTO and TOYO came to the rescue and offered some decient 19" selections!
If I had to run damn Pirellis again, I would have sold my CCWs. They are HORRIBLE tires. I was so glad when they wore out.! They sucked BILGE WATER!

My TOYO Proxes T1R tires are OUTSTANDING! VERY good in cold Connecitut weather and fanaminal in normal warm weather! Very glad I sellected them!!!

I run Pirelli Assemetrico 285/30-20 and love them. These are by far the best tires I have had and I have had ALOT on this and my other two C5s.
