Help: Sound with acceleration!
hey all, this is my first post here on C.F..just joined the v8 world 
..
I just picked up a 99 with 90 on the odo..car has been parked for over a year due to security problems which lead to buying the car really cheap and getting it fixed in 10 mins
.
anyway so this is my 5th day with the car..and started hearing this noise which almost sounds like a really bad belt, but im sure it has nothing to do with the belts.
the sound appears when ever i go over 40km and the sound increases with the speed.. as soon as i release my foot from the pedal the sound disappears..im really lost as i dont know where its coming from and why. I dont want to drive the car as im afraid that its something serious.
no codes on the clusteral except bad ABS module and tire service.
i dont know where to check/begin..so any symptoms would be more than appreciated..

Is it a manual or auto? I am having an issue with mine (manual) having a loud whine which is especailly noticeable in 5th and 6th gears over 50mph. It only happens when on the gas, as soon as I let off it goes away. Initial diagnostics is a bad differential / bearings in the differential. Waiting for the parts to see if that fixes it.

where did you order your differential parts from?

I've been told: change the oil first and check, bearings or ring and pinion
still would like more replies
