Since I am new to the Corvette, I figure I better get some informed opinions (meaning all of you ) on what I should upgrade.
Car is a 2000 coupe that I believe is completely stock.
I have an LS1 that I originally built for a Camaro that has dynoed at 518 hp / 528 ft/lbs. I will be putting this in the Corvette this winter and am curious what you all think I need to upgrade/replace to be able to handle this.
Definitely will need a better clutch to hold the power.
If you do something stupid and get wheel hop with these cars you will likely destroy your transmission and/or differential. Some people go with the DTE brace to help with this problem, though nothing is full proof.
You may end up doing something to strengthen your differential. Might want to look at what RPM has to offer.
I would upgrade the suspension and brakes. I installed a thicker tunnel plate which makes the car a little more rigid. Wider tires will be a nice compliment to this power. I put down 460 to the wheels and it spins my 295 rear tires on demand even with traction control on.
