Default Constant fuses blowing

03 Vert, my ECM mirrors, the map lights and visor lights are all out. Have replaced the mini fuse several times. Has anyone else had same issues and if so did you trouble shoot it yourself and where did you start and or find the problem? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

You have got a wire pinched somewhere and it is shorting out. Think back, what have you done lately to the car? What ever you did, take it back apart and look to see if you have pinched any wires. Next thing would be trying to isolate which function is blowing your fuse. Try to disconnect the mirror, the visor lights, and map lights and see if it still pops the fuse. If not, then start reconnecting each item one at a time until the fuse pops again, then you will know better where to look. Good luck.

That's the thing, nothing was done to the car. Now that I say that I wonder if I have had a mouse up under the dash somewhere and the car was in the garage at mother in law's.

Anything is possible. Tracking it down is going to hard. Try to isolate each function and see if that helps. Otherwise, you may need to take it in. But it will not resolve itself. Good luck.

Good advice.

Start with your map lights. They have a history of generating a lot of heat in and around the bulbs. You might have a melted/damaged wire in or near the bulb(s).

The easiest way I can think of right off-hand to isolate an individual component in this case would be to simply remove the bulb(s) one at a time, although in the case of the map lights, it's possible that a melted/damaged wire may remain shorted even without the bulb being present. If in doubt about that, I would remove the mirror for inspection in or near the bulb mounting locations inside.

Thanks, I will look into this before I look for critters, car was in Mother in law's garage and there are no rodents there or in the house so I kinda doubt that is the problem. The amber light on the bottom of the mirror works, the electro mirror function, the map lights and the vanity lights in both visors do not.
