so ill drive the my 99 frc and the DIC will say a certain miles left before i run out of gas. when i turn the car off and let it sit it will say much lower. If it says 90 miles at night and in the morning i come back the reserve fuel light will come on. It is very misleading. Is this a faulty piece or just the normal GM quality?

thanx
neither. Every car I have owned does the typical at night have 1/4 tank, in am, have 1/8 or less.
ALso, remember the 'miles left' is just a calculation based on calculated fuel remaining divided by the current mpg (a calc based on vacume), which at start-up/first few miles is always low, therefore the 'miles left' will always be low, but usually increases once the car warms up and you get off the local roads and on the highways.
Mine too. The C5 has dual tanks and a transfer pump that moves the fuel from one to the other. I wonder if the gas moves back when parked and throws off the sensors. Mine will usually come back up once I drive it a bit.
