Default Finally it runs sort of

I'm working a 2002 project car, I finally got everything hooked up and got it fire for the first time. A few things I noticed, DIC reports Low voltage, Reduced Engine Power. The pedal has no response. The tach shows no movement other then when turn the key it does the initial sweep. Anyone have any ideas what to check?

I also can't see to get the DIC to reset...

The reduced eng power has to do with the throttle by wire system not functioning correctly.

Please explain more about your car. Need to know some past history and why its a PROJECT CAR. Condition prior to the repair efforts. Can you read the DTCs via the DIC? If not, you will need to read them with a scanner and report the DTCs. make ssure you use a scanner that can read ALL the cars functions like the Body module Functions.

The car is a project because I never owned it as complete C5, piecing one together. The drive train and all the components are from the same car. The TAC module is a used replacement along with the pedal. I have two pedals both give the same results. I can't get the cluster to read DTC's. I tried the procedure to get them to display.

MAKE SURE that the TAC module is the correct one for your car and that it is GOOD. Disconnect the battery and see if the DIC clears. What procedure are you doing to read the DTCs. Please explain what you are doing when your reading the DTCs (all the steps that your using)

The part # on the module is 25311783 I bought it from someone in here who claimed it was a working module.

For the DIC I'm using a procedure I found in the forum
The Diagnostic Display Mode is entered with the following procedure:
1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2) Press the RESET button to turn off any warning messages
3) Press and hold OPTIONS
4) While holding OPTIONS, press FUEL four times within a 10-second period.

When I do step 4 it Reads "Diagnostics" less then a second and goes right back to the errors. Then sometimes it reads Battery Voltage 1.3

I'm not sure what the norm is for the display to read. When I turn the key to start, all gauges do a full sweep. "Corvette By Chevrolet" reads along the bottom then the errors are displayed.

1. Reduced power
2. Low Voltage
3. Service Tire Mon Sys
4. Check Tire Pressure
5. Service Vehicle Soon
6. Brake Before Shift

Is the PCM & BCM the same ones that came out of the vehicle or are they parts from another C5??

Are all of the other modules in the car and hooked up?

What error codes are you seeing???

Battery voltage 1.3????? Are you sure that the battery is good? Fully charge the battey and make sure it reads at least 12 VDC. C5s do not like low voltage.

Default Pcm bcm

PCM is new, programmed by a forum member, BCM and Ignition s/w are matching used ones also from a 2002, no door modules. Battery is new and fully charged, turns engine over nicely and starts it right up.

I still can't access the diagnostics menu so I can't read the error codes.

Your PCM and BCM need to be SYNCED together. Without being synced they will not communicate with each other.

You will need to conduct the PCM/BCM relearn process. This matches their handshake ID's and allows them to talk to each other.

Do this before you worry about VATS issues:

1. Turn on the key for 11 minutes.
2 Turn off the key for 30 seconds.
3. Repeat 1&2 two more times.
4. Turn on the key for 30 seconds.

The car should start and run with the new BCM. Good luck and report back on your progress.

I think the BCM is ok, the car starts and runs I just can't get the throttle to work with the pedal, no tach movement and can't access DTC diag menu.

It's not a new bcm it's used 2002 the car is also a 2002?
