yea,, I drove it ,, thats when I found that I dont get a pressure,,, I dont get XXX or a service tire system,,, and all the other 3 are fine... its the replaced right front that doesnt display a reading.
I don't know about '98. I put a set of '08 wheels , no correct sensors, on my '02, and had to drive about fifteen minutes before the pressure readings from the original wheels went away. Someone else can tell you more about the '98 sensors.
I will check for code in the morning and maybe install another rim with a good sensor,,, or just fool the computer by telling it the right front is the left rear and see if the left rear displays for the right front and the right front shows for the left rear,.,,,,,if I can remember that,,lol
I think you're on the right track. I just replaced a single sensor on my 99, and it worked fine. If it doesn't work regardless of "where" you train it, my guess is some strange failure in the sensor itself -- hopefully a warranty replacement.
well crap.. I re-set all sensors, ran the codes....( whick were all sensor codes from ALL but the one that is not showing....whats up with that) i delleted all codes and switched the front tires to show as rear and the rear to show as front...drove the car...
still show that the right front is not sending a pressure....dammit,
so,, I will swtich them back and get another new sensor.
crap.....I doubt if it is the reciever,, since the right rear showed as the right front when switched....i know the display works.
Thats weird. If it honks it means the computer has the reference for the TPS. If it doesn't show XXX it means the TPS is sending a signal. Very strange.
Did you drive the car for a good distance? Mine takes up to a mile to display the correct pressure.
As you say it could just be a bad sensor but strange its not displaying on the DIC
I drove it about 8 miles,,, all others displayed but the right fornt rim...and thats the new sensor,,, it simply had NO reading,.., no xxx or message either.
so,, I guess i willget another sensor and see what happens....darn
