Questions about headers?????????
After I put new gears in the Vette I want to add a set of Headers--Do LT headers require any welding or just bolt on like B&B shorty headers??? Also I know what kind of results the long tubes yield--what kind of numbers can I expect from shorty headers??-Thanks in Advance :chevy

I recomend Finish Line Products long tube headers. I didn't get to dyno before and after but I did get 1/4 mile before and after.
12.05- before headers
11.73- after
That is with out cats. Kit comes with headers, high flow cats, Y-pipe,V-style clamps, off road pipes, (replaces cats) and O2 sims.
I run B&B tri flows and it sounds great. No resonance at cruising speed.
11.20 with 150 shot before headers
10.82 with 150 shot after headers
No welding req. bolt right in. No jacking motor up or removing starter.
left side from bottom, right side from top.

you probably will get about 6-8 hp with shorties. 15+ with lt's
i have the tpis lt's . you have to cut all the pipe off the front of the cats and weld a small h-pipe/crossover adapter that tpis gives you. its actually very simple if you can get someone that welds

Talk to Ed Cintron at Finish Line Performance 630-820-9294 http://www.flpexhaust.com I have been talking to them for 6 months and they made me a prototype set. I bugged them so much I think they got tired of me and figured the only way to shut me up was to build me a set. Glad I waited. I was told that they would be ready to ship in Feb. some time. Price for whole kit should be about $1699.00. Not bad for all you get. Just talked to Ed and they are running a special price for the first 25 orders, $1299.00

You have to decide what you want in a header.
If you want stainless steel, LG Motorsports or Belanger are good choices.
If you want coated mild steel (which may rust over time) you can go for the TTS or TPIS headers.
I have the TTS and no complaints.

1HOTTVETT, thanks dude. with long tubes and off road pipe your vette will be sounding great. i cant wait to hear it.
what did you do with your gears? did you go with 3.15's or .3.42's or something?
