Is there suppose to be a seal or weatherstriping around the top of the battery and fuse box compartment? If so anyone have a link or a part number for it. I have a 99 Coupe, and there isn't one on it, but noticed them in several pictures of other cars. Thanks in advance for any help!
Yes theres is a seal on the top of that enclosure. It isnt necessary if its gone but, it looks a lot better installed. The C6s dont even have that enclosure so, thats how important it is!
The OEM seal is a dealer item. Check the price at the local stealership and if its too high, contact Gene Culley www.gmpartshouse.com foe a lot better price.
I've noticed the seal doesn't completely go around the battery box. There is a 1/2" or so gap on the aft, outboard corner. It looks like water from the cowl can drop directly onto the PCM from here. It hasn't caused me any problems and most cars don't bother to try and protect the PCM at all from weather, but its just weird that they'd make a 99% effort to protect it completely.

The PCM is totally waterproof. That seal and the battery "compartment" partition was more of an attempt at preventing the high exhaust heat from getting directly to the battery. Excessive heat can kill batteries.
