If I unsterstand right that the bulbs are removable I'm thinking about removing the button backlighting bulbs, since mine never turn off to see if the battery drain problem is eliminated. Think it will work?

Thanks

They too are incandescent lamps but a whole lot easier to find a source for and to replace. They need to be 12V 70mA lamps for the proper brightness and can be soldered onto the circuit boards. If any are burned out, I would replace them all. The DIC and HUD Controller require special ones due to the sockets that hold them and the lamps in the sockets are very tiny.

The Radio and HVAC use a 12volt 70mA miniature bulb soldered unto the PCBs, as dgrant has already said;

Several people, including myself have attempted to change out only a few burnt out bulbs only to have the remaining bulbs start blowing so they must ALL be changed out at once with new bulbs. Unless of course you enjoy taking the Center Console apart and soldering...

The buttons, ALL BUTTONS use a special Wedge base all of them are the same size EXCEPT the Dimmer/HUD switch (on left in pic below) which has an even smaller base;

If you have some burnt out bulbs and plan on keeping the Vette, the LED Mod starts making alot of sense...
