Ive been running the sumitomo htrz 2's for awhile they are pretty good for the money. The sidewalls flare out some and they arnt that sunken in look with the falkens. They held 410hp to the tires without spinning much at all untill they are almost bald. I ran a 12.91 on these tires with my 99M6 was stock. Overall I feel for the price its a great bang for the buck!
my friend chose the falkens for his vette and the sidewall profiles look sunken in in compareing his old goodyears or my sumitumos. It looks kinda like he picked the wrong tire for his rim but the stock size is whats on there, its just in their design.
Awesome! Thanks for your thoughts. About how many miles did the Sumitomos last you? Just FYI... the HTRz 3's have a 300 treadwear rating as opposed to the HTRz 2's 220 treadwear rating...
I actually have the FK451's right now and even though the rears are down to the wear markers, the tires grip well and the breakaway going into a slide is quite progressive... =) They are now iffy however, in handling the torque in first gear at about 4000+ rpm where the wheels starts hopping and traction control senses slippage

I have the Sumitomo HTR Z II and been a great tire, There are a few things to watch out for though, Not a great rain tire or snow, On dry pavement you can't beat them for the money, Would I buy them again.. At this point yes.

Another + for the sumis. I drove them in lots of pouring down rain and they did good. Took me back to Oklahoma from Missouri with it raining the whole time. Of course you have to take it easy. It is really really easy to make the car go sideways doing so.

I went with the 2's because the more agressive tread design and performance rating, but all in fairness I got 25K out of the back tires, with 415+RWHP.
I didnt do too many burnouts one here and there, but I did race on them a good bit.
youll see allot of people will feel this is a pretty good tire for the price...
Im gonna keep running them for my street tire for all arround use, but when i go strictly to race at the drag stip im gonna pick up a set of used back wheels and put some drag radials on them and swap them over at the track.
When you head to the track are you going to stick with stock wheel size and fit a quality tire to it? I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for 4 possible track sessions each summer. I'd like to buy some stock rear wheels and mount either real slicks or cheater slicks. Any advice would help.
