I finally got my first Corvette, my dream come true. I have heard a lot about NOS, some good, some bad. Since so many of you run NOS, I'd like to know if there are any problems that come along with it. Extra service or maintenance, reliabilty, etc. mine is a daily driver, and I do not want to run anything that will create problems. Thanks in advance.
N20 is great. You only use extra power when you need it.
For daily driver I would avoid kits that use power ring. Power ring puts solenoids right smack in the middle of your engine heat. Constant heat and cooling of solenoids will cause damage over the long term.
Mounted my solenoids, on front frame section away from engine heat.
shftn6,
Yes we can mount them any where you want the only problem you will incounter will be a delay in the NOS when it kicks in if you have them to far from the jets.
If you get all safety things with it then no. The car is stock till you hit that button. Don't get more than 100HP wet :yesnod: You'll need, a kit with bottle warmer, window switch, WOT ot TPS switch and optional eletric bottle oppener and external PSi gauge. Here are some pic's from my install with Corevtte Doctors in NY did.
Look on top of the first pic where the gauge it.
Peter, N20 is a lot of fun, i say get some :D Jetski is mistaken about the power ring, as you can mount the noids any where you wish. get the TNT kit if you want the best kit on the market :yesnod:

Remember 99 hardtop who used to push TNT power ring and products on this board.
Do you know what happened to his car?
Fire destroyed his car. Last post I saw was fuel solenoid leaked near power ring and totaled car:(
Maybe it is a good idea to mount solenoids away from heat ;)

Yeah and he had Tony from TNT in the car with him and James riding behind. I don't recall what the exact cause of the fire was, but it was terrible. I do not think I have seen Dale on here since that time. Hope he got a new ride and is doing well.

Installed complete NX kit
If you have basic mechanical ability, you will have no problems installing your own N20 kit. Install is simple but time consuming.
Any problems you run into, forum will be there to help out.
anything can happen, maybe your right. I still think the TNT kits are superior, and you can mount the noids like yours if your concerned about the heat, also I dont think it is that much cooler near the radiator as opposed to at the throttle body.
Just an opinion about remote mounting of fuel solenoids... it is generally accepted safety practice in automotive design and racing that fuel is NEVER routed ahead of the front crossmember and certainly never outside the frame rails. Some folks have mounted their solenoids on the front rail.. certainly their choice, but if you ever get into a front end collision, the chances of a fuel discharge are greatly increased by having the solenoids mounted to what is in effect, your front bumper.... Lots of folks do it, but I wouldn't even dream of it.. Just my $0.02......NO FLAMES INTENDED !!!!
