i tried the search button but could not find what i was looking for. i am looking for a thread about lightweight batteries the guy had batteries ranging from 9lbs to 18 lbs and they are reasonably priced. help!
judgeing by your name I assume youve been into the evo croud with the light batteries..
My only thing here is, the C5 has like 14 on board computers and functions and a million electrical gremlins cause by weak batteries.. IMO its not worth the 10lb weight savings, when you could easily save it somewhere else...
3000 miles on a Braille 15lb battery. No issues yet. Left the car for a little over a week and it started right up. I can't sit in the car and listen to the stereo very long without the engine running but otherwise no issues. I have a 500rwhp 418ci LS3 motor. I am thinking about upgrading the sound system and may just add another Braille battery just for the stereo.
do you drive the car only at the track or do you drive the car on the street also and how much cost wise and how much does it way
It gets a lot of track time, but it's also driven on the street. The 925 weighs about 20 lbs or so. Odyssey has smaller/lighter batteries, but I went with the 925 to save about 20 to 25 lbs and to retain the ease of use and reliablility of standard battery.
Odyssey sells the hold down as an optional item and I added the Z06 sticker.
I would rather eat less big Mac's and get an Optima Red top, especially with the computers under the battery. Optima was still working fine after 6 years but did not want to push it. I now use it as a back up battery for the Hummer when going far off road.
