Default Water leak FRC

I have a leak into the rear passenger hatch. Water aimed into the gap between the top and the rear quarter panel reproduces it. I did a search and came across archived leak TSB's without pictures attached. Does anyone have access to the pictures? Thanks.

Apply a contrasting coating on your gasket. Something like white chalk or even grease. Carefully shut the trunk and re open it. Check the contact print on the trunk and see if there are any gaps. You also need to check to see if the gasket seals tightly on the lip of the trunk well. Make sure that the gasket seam isnt leaking.

Towards the front forward corners of the well opening are areas where the water can flow out to the door sill area.
If you look at the area where the roof area meets the door opening, you will see a rectangle shaped hole. That area should be free to drain the water from the trunk lip area. Make sure that the drain is not clogged. Mine was and I used a long tiewrap to fish through the hole and break up the crap that was in there.

Thanks, Bill. I figured you would be the guy with an answer. I suspect that there is a drain clog, as this has been a source of water in the past for both driver and passenger side foot wells up front.

One thing that worries me here though, is a small gap in the outer trim around the window. I can't tell if the water is coming through there, or merely backing up after it runs into the gutter.

I don't believe the gasket to be at fault, since I water tested the side area with the trunk open, without seeing water entry.

I will look for the drain after work, however, if you get a chance, perhaps you could post a picture of it for me.

Thanks, again.
