Okay, i just bought a 99 FRC. I am very happy with the car, it is beautiful. I am just having one little problem. The backlight for my gauges refuses to turn on. I have tried everything. I know they work because they will turn on right after i turn the car off and i had them on last night by turning the key to the right a bit more in the ignition. Am i really this dumb or is there a special trick?

Have you tried adjusting the dimmer **** on the left hand side of the instrument panel?
yahh, i have actually moved this to every position possible. i thought it was something to do with a setting through the dic. Idk what it is cus it was working fine last night and i see it turn on when the car turns off.

Welcome to high technology built by the lowest bidder. Bill Curlee's electrical thread should be required reading for any new Corvette owner... cleaning up the grounds fixed all kinds of problems on my car.
the car does not have tail lights either. the brake lights work, as do the turning signals. I am thinking this could be the same problem. All of the other inside lights work, floorboard, door, and mirror lights.

Have you checked minifuse #6 in the instrument panel electrical center?
