Livernois motorsports, Road Rebel (aka Dr. phil) he is real busy man tho, but if u able to catch him than feel great. Or u can drive little west to IL and u have another great choice Striagthline performance.

But ur best bet contact Road rebel, mostly he spent on FI section and request over there so u can get his contact #. GL.

Either one has a good reputation.

Not saying anything bad about Livernois, because they've put out some KILLER cars, but if you're getting it tuned too, Dr. Phil is one of the best tuners Anywhere!

Default Try Vector Motorsports

I just had headers & x-pipe installed and a dyno tune by Vector Motorsports in Clinton Twp. They are very meticulous and did a great job. Very knowledgeable on C5/C6 Vettes which is their specialty.
The owner and mechanic will answer all questions and are very personable guys. Highly recommended.
Plus they promptly return all calls, unlike Livernois who jerked me around for 2 weeks with no call back.

Vector as in Kirk Dearhammer, the guy who used to tune for APE?

Yes, Kirk is the guy I dealt with, don't know who/what "APE" is, but he must be doing something right as everytime I've been there he has been loaded up with Vettes. And based on my personal experience I won't hesitate to take my car back for more mods in the future.

My dyno sheet reads 329 RWHP / 340 TORQUE ~ which based on losing 15-20% from motor to RW puts me around 400HP at motor, +55 HP gain from stock. Only mods were CAI, 80mm MAF, headers, hi flow cats, Granatelli mufflers... all parts I found on this forum for cheap!

Not real sure about Kirk (at Vector). When I was there for a dyno day, he said that the stock vette injectors can be run at 100% all day long with no problems. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about tuning, but that goes against what I have learned about injector duty cycles. I will say, however that I dynoed 326 whp there with my FRC that I thought was stock...

g. Sorry' I may sound dumb but can you be real specific on the mods, together with that I'am interested in what you refer to on the forum for cheap. Mercy the Billy boat headers back X-pipe to fusion muffler (like Z-o6/straight thru) oval tips or round through West Coast corvetts in about $3,000.00, and besides that gotta get installation..............

I'll jump in here.

If I wanted exhaust work done I'd go to Gary at PFE.
Last year when I was very busy Gary did some good work including installing a steering rack, steering pump, poly bushings etc. He made a custom Y pipe for my old Camaro a few years ago.
BTW. He installs H/C packages and sends his clients to Vector for tuning.

I've heard mostly good about Vector but have NO personnel experience with them and so have no opinion but the fact that Gary recommends them is a plus.

I had the same problem with Livernois as Joe Bazan (thanks for the PM Joe) and last year left a couple of messages and got no response. Rick seems to monitor the forum and so next time I would PM him directly.

Dr Phil has been mentioned here, he is always spoken of highly and I contacted him a couple of weeks ago and he responded that he would tune my car if requested ...my conversation did not go further as I am assembling parts and still need to install the H/C etc etc.

A "mail order" tune is an option if you're only installing intake and exhaust this is cheap (relatively) and can save you money and problems.

My C5 Z06 PCM was tuned by Charlie at RPM in CA. after I installed LG LT's and a BB Bullet cat back I sent him the comp and it was back in a few days. Cost $150.00 approx as RPM had a forum "special" running.

As I've always wanted to know what my Z was producing for RWHP I checked the Dynojet web site and found Walsh Motorsports a few miles from me ...called a couple of times but only got the answering M/C ...so I drove over ...hey it's only 7 miles away. Don Walsh was a good guy, a racer (both drag and road course) and in a short time I had my dyno numbers. They were surprised at the #'s but they were inline with my estimate. See here for the dyno chart:
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e7...0610-28-08.jpg
This is the Charlie tune, nothing but safe and just removed the rear O2's and consequent codes and adjusted the AF for the intake/headers. I don't doubt that Walsh could tune my Z.

To get to the OP's comment about used parts etc. I have used LG headers, used BB Bullets and a vararam intake (already on the car when bought) paid $1150 for the headers (used for 1500 miles) with cats (not used) and $325 for the BB's. Avoiding the Corvette tax and buying carefully and when parts become available can save money that's better spent on tires, pads and rotors for the track.
The OP's problem will be not installing himself .... this is what gets expensive. If you have to get someone to do the work you will pay and not always be satisfied.

Here's an example. ATI did my first alignment a few years ago and I was confident it was accurate, however they stopped taking outside work. After installing coil overs I tried tried various other "shops" with varying results and so ended up aligning the car myself and after a couple of trys learning the ropes I had it down ..the same with corner weighing which I also did (with help from MYSR71). So my point is get down get dirty and do it yourself if you can.

Sorry for the long ramble.
Good luck.

You are one lucky person to have Dr. Phil in your backyard! If you can catch him, he is your man!
