Default Lifting car to remove wheels...What do I need?

I'm thinking about painting my calipers. Now, to lift the car I obviously need a floor jack but beyond that what do I need?
1) Can I use the rear shackles as lifting points for the rear?
2) Do I need ramps to get the front of the car high enough to slip a floor jack under it?
3) Do I need lifting pucks to use on the front end lift with the jack?
4) Do I need jackstands?
Any information would be appreciated. I don't know, but assume that most do two wheels at a time. Thanks!

NO, check the owners manual it has the lifting points in it. For the rear it is either side of the center brace, preferably where the flanges all come together and there is kind of a circle there. (that sounds really confusing but when you see it, you'll understand, there is a diagram in the owners manual)

2) Do I need ramps to get the front of the car high enough to slip a floor jack under it?
Yes, Rhino ramps work great and don't cost much.

3) Do I need lifting pucks to use on the front end lift with the jack?
Not really, as long as you place a wood block or something similar between the metal lifting end of your jack and the car itself. This spreads the load and keeps from damaging the car.

4) Do I need jackstands?
Always use jackstands when working under a vehicle.

I actually have two sets of jack stands so that I can get the entire car up in the air at the same time. This helps when bleeding brakes or doing other preventative maintainence at the track.

Have fun,

Matt.

I agree with what MJM said.

but you could also use a newspaper ( the complete folded up newspaper)
instead of jacking pucks or wooden blocks.

I worked great for me when I did my rotors and Z06 calipers.
the newspaper is soft so It will not hurt the body, and when it is folded up is very strong. It also distributes the weight nicely.

plus it's a whole lot easier to find than a piece of wood that's the right size. :D
