I have the infamous C5 gas gauge problem that the Techron treatment helped for a while, but no longer. I'm going to change the sending unit as set out in a great thread on the board.
But I'm having another problem I think is related to the gas gauge, but I'm not at all sure. When the gas gauge drops to empty, I can count on being able to burn only 10 to 12 gallons of the fuel on board. Then it "runs out of gas." Does anyone know if this is related to the sending unit problem, or do I have another problem I need to take care of as well?
Pull your codes and see what it tells you and us. You may have a more serious issue with the jet siphon pump on the passenger side or a collapsed line. You didn't say how much fuel was in the tank when the indication drops to zero and then having the 10-12 gallons left
I had a similar problem with my 2002 Z06. Turned out to be a clogged jet/siphon pump in the right side tank. Cost to repair = $0. Ran out of gas… due to fuel transfer system failure http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1758904

I'll do that.
The gauge drops to empty anywhere from 3/4 of a tank to 1/2 tank. How much fuel I can burn also varies. I've coasted into a gas station and could only take 9.5 gallons and I've been able to burn as much as 12 gallons.
The reason I though it might be related to the gauge is because a heavy dose of Sea Foam one time let the gauge run to less than 1/4 tank and I was able to put somewhere around 16 gallons in the tank. That happened only once and that was over 6 months ago.
Thanks, and I'll post the codes.
Chas.

Let us know how it turns out.
Thanks for the link. I'll give that a try and report back.
Sounds like two problems. Use the advice concerning the Jet Siphon Pump from MIKER. Also, check the main crossover tube from the left to right tanks. They can collapse therefore no fuel gets into the right tank when filling your car. You will probably have to get the rear on jacks to see it.
Something just occurred to me. Since the jet pump isn't working to transfer fuel to the left tank and I can't get a siphon hose into the right tank, I guess I have a full right tank with no way to drain it. This is going to be fun.
I guess I'll have to put buckets under the fuel pump access panel and let the right tank drain that way.
