Default Fuel Rail covers

I just got my new painted fuel rail covers and the instructions say i have to remove the fuel line before installing. It says i need a special tool and that you have to release the pressure befroe removing. Does anyone have a photo that shows where the pressure is relieved

You sure you have to disconnect the fuel lines? Isn't the covers split to accept the hose? if you have to...
Drivers side rail, near the throttle body end, there is a knurled cap, unscrew it you'll find a schrader valve, just push the tit in. Like a tire valve.

If you remove the fuel line then install the FRCs, I don't see how you'll get the fuel line back on.

You guys are missing the point. The OP has new painted covers, so to be on the safe side and avoid damaging the new painted surface, the instructions recommend removing the fuel line.

There is a a screw on cap on the end of the fuel rail..forward, drivers side. Take off the cap, and you'll see a schrader valve(just like a tire valve stem). Get something to capture the fuel, and depress the valve to let off fuel pressure. Then you can just use a line disconnect tool to remove the fuel feed.

I have painted covers as well from Autobuffs. What I do is heat the FRC with a hair dryer so it is more flexible, then cover the fuel hose with a soft cotton rag and put painters tape along the opening in the FRC. Then carefully flex it into place. You can practice with the original. Removing the fuel line is less risk to the cover though, that is likely why they suggested it.

You can get the tool at Autozone or somewhere and release the fuel into a rag at the forward end of the driver's side rail. Best to do this with the engine cold and not run for a day.

After putting fuel line through hole in FRC:

Hold FRC with right hand
Snap fuel line back on with left hand
