Last evening I had two rear tires installed at a local tire shop. All was fine driving there. Tires were installed and removed from bay to another area where the tire sensors were to be programed. No luck with hand held programmer so I said I would take it elsewhere. When I left the tire shop I received the above message and the fuel would shut off after I started to move. (Not good on a busy street). They helped me push to a safe location. I contacted a fellow club member and we tried removing a couple of fuses per the sticky to no avail. It is now at the dealer. Has this happened to anyone? could the tire shop have done anything to affect this? According to the GMVIS (I think) the column lock recall has been performed. 2000 Coupe MN6. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for any insight.

You may want to try this. Turn the key to the off position and remove it from the ignition. Next, firmly tug the steering wheel back and forth several times. Then with your left hand with your palm facing you, pull down with quite a bit of force like you are turning right and slowly turn the key to the "on position" without starting the engine and the column lock should release. This has worked for many people including myself on my '02 Vert.
Once it is released install a CLB from either CoH or Thunder Racing.
