I want to get a set but not sure what might look good and not stick out past the edge of the tire, i plan on doing the Folitec paint on the calipers so ill have the tires off, a good time to do both jobs.
Any input would be appreciated, Thanks.
Re: Splash gaurds- any reccomendation's (Silver Z06)
I bought Cleartastic although I am unsure if I will use it as it doesn't cover the lower rocker panels. There are other products out that are clear and protect the wheel wells and rocker panels. I have looked into splash guards, and while I want to protect the car, those will be a last resort if I can't find something else to use.
Re: Splash gaurds- any reccomendation's (Silver Z06)
Well they must be pretty bad, i guess you guys dont have them, i had them on my '93 and they helped keep the rocker area free of the usual road crap, thats the reason i was thinking about installing if they looked like they blend in to the contour of the fender thats why i asked for opinions, Thanks guys maybe ill reconsider after your strong NO's :(

Shoot....and I was ready to install the ones I got from ecklers until they arrived in the mail...were they splash guards or urethane tents for the car? Those mothers are BIG

Same here! Didn't like the fact that I needed to drill holes into the outside lip of the fneder to mount them either. Made my own...
I've got the ones from mid america .They don't look as bad as most of them, come with 4 clips no drilling or taking the tire off.If you want to show the car they come off easy.I'm satisfied with them.
I put them on my 98 when it was new, only holes I had to make were in the fender liner. The big benefit is that I am chip free behind the rear wheels, have some chips behind the fronts on the rocker panel. Bought the black from Mid-America for my Carmine Red. Even though they look big off, they are not that noticable on.
I have them and unlike others here I like them. They easily come off when I want and I think hey are molded well. I can not stand paint chips on a black car.

Re: Splash gaurds- any reccomendation's (Rob 99)
Apparently contrary to popular opinion (at least on this post), I have them on my car and I think they serve a very useful purpose. I bought mine from Ecklers and they do not require any drilling - they use factory mounting holes. They are big, but they also do a very good job of keeping the rock chips off the lower edge of the car. They are black, so they blend in very well with the large tires on the car. Do what you like - but be prepared to have many, many rock chips if you don't use something. I drive mine every day and want to keep it as nice as possible.
I have them and they look fine. As a matter of fact most people don't even realize that they are on my car. No rock chips! Had them on my '98, '00 and now on my '02 :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :seeya :seeya

Joel, that is one sweet lookin ride! hehe, i have the same car: '02 EB coupe.
Where did you get the splash guards you have on your car? did they require any drilling? they are a lot less noticeable than i had imagined, i think i will be getting some myself.
