Default High output c5 alternators?

Does anyone happen to remember who it was that posted here not too long ago regarding offering new high output C5 alternators? Seems like it was one of the forum vendors.

I've tried a search and no luck.

Thanks

Thanks Luck.

Those two sites look interesting and I'll take a closer look, but it wasn't either of them. Pretty sure it was a forum vendor.

Checked Pinnacle and didn't see anything on their site, so unless it's something not posted there, I don't think it was them either.

It SEEMS like it was posted by Tracy at RevXtreme but I didn't see anything on their site either, plus now they're closed and I can't call today.

Anyone else think it may have been RevXtreme?

Aha!! Thanks.

I thought it was them. When I checked their website there was no info showing so I wasn't sure.

What was the max current rating on it? I forgot. How is it performing for you.

Don't think Tracey ever posted the max rating.
Turns out I never needed the high output alternator. My DIC was just reading about 1.8 volts less than my actual battery voltage.

Actually it's the amperage output capability that really matters the most, as that's what gives more available amps overall (if needed by the electrical system), ESPECIALLY at idle.

So, did you return yours or keep it? If you kept it, did you experience any "Charge System Fault" warnings on the DIC at all?

I ask since I too have an earlier C5 and that is can issue with just trying to bolt on the later (higher current model) alternators.

I kept it on. Reason I got it in the first place was I added an electric water pump and got the "Charge System Fault" warning. I thought I needed more power. Turns out the new pump was faulty and replaced the pump. Never had any problems since. Not sure if I needed it or not. Some help I am huh?

Not at all. Actually you were helpful. You confirmed my thoughts (and happa's too) on who the vendor was and also indicated that you are not experiencing any "Charge System Fault" warnings on your DIC.

Thanks.

Don't quote me on this but when my factory alt went and I was quoted $1500 for a new OEM one I got a rebuilt one and the guy at the alt/starter shop said that the Hummer H2 high output alt, mounts the same and works with the C5. Do some background checks though.
