Default Replace caliper mounting bolts?

I’m replacing my calipers with powder coated ones. The shop manual says the following when replacing calipers:

Caution: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed.

I assume they are talking about the mounting bolts? Do they really need to be changed?

I don't think they are talking about the 21 mm bracket bolts. The issue with the shop manual is the removal of the red (loctite) from the 15 mm caliper bolts. For a shop charging by time, it takes a while to remove the red stuff from the threads, and it has to be removed if the bolts are to be re-used. So for the shop, it is easier to just replace. For the DIY person, it might be worth the time to do it. I used my tap and die kit to remove the red stuff and I didn't put the red stuff back on the bolts as I track my car and I am constantly changing out pads and rotors. If this is a one time thing you may want to at least use some loctite or just get new kit. Hope this helps.

The manual calls for replacing both the guide pin bolts in the caliper and the bracket mounting bolts.

Don't forget the loctite after you clean the bolts! They can wiggle lose even during normal driving. Ask me how I know.

You need to use (HIGH STRENGTH) on the caliper bracket mounting bolts! USE LOW STRENGTH on the small caliber bolts.

Depending on whos locking compound you use,,,,the color of the containers RED BLUE are confusing. MAKE SURE you read the lable and get the correct product. HIGH STRENGTH or LOW STRENGTH

I have reused mine at least 100 times.
Clean the threads with a wire brush or run a thread chasing die over them.
