Question about cleaning Blackwing??

When I bought my FRC it had a Blackwing in it.It is looking kind of grubby and think it's time to clean it. No local shops carry the Blackwing specific kits to clean and re-oil.I've read that they use a synthetic fabric. Anyone think there would be a problem using a K&N kit?? Any other suggestions for generic materials.I hate Mail order and on line dealing and the K&N is available locally. Thanks in advance!!

Been using the K&N cleaner kit on mine and works great no problems

OK!!!Thanks guys,,,I see a preventive maintainance day in my near future!!clean the filter and need to get some CRC and clean the MAF and TB while I'm in the area

I clean mine with Simple Green, a bucket and a soft brush. Recharge with a mixture of mineral oil and alcohol in a spray bottle.
