Default oil psi question
I notice that my oil psi is running at 80 all the time. Don't the oil pressure suppose to drop with the car is idleing. What is going on with this? And is this a bad thing? HELP!!!!

Hey bro, sounds like the oil sending unit has gone south. If you look at the oil pressure in the DIC, it should be ~130. Let me know if you need a hand...

Check out the many posts at the top of the tech section for the oil pressure sender. This is a common problem.

Do a search, it is a common issue. The sensors go bad.

r u guys talk about the little sensor that is next to the oil filter? because it has been showing low oil temp for awhile now. I replaced it about a year ago.

Try this, turn on ignition, with engine NOT running. If you see oil pressure, your sensor is bad.

Sounds like a failed sensor, mine was out for a while with the same problem.
