I see that GM parts house has T1 tranny coolers on sale at a good price.
Is this cooler for the 6 speed or the automatic?
If it's for the 6 spd will it easily install in a non-cooler car? (99FRC)
It is for the 6 speed manual. The kit comes with hose, heat exchanger, pump, thermostat and the electrical harness including the fuse holder. I believe the heat exchanger is a Derale plate type part number 13501. It is definitely a high quality unit. The heat exchanger is mounted in front of the A/C condenser on special brackets provided in the kit. The pump is mounted in the right rear wheel well behind the inner liner. The thermostat is screwed to the transmission case and turns the pump on when the case temp reaches 190 degrees. For me that is about 3 laps around Watkins Glen.
The cooler mounts in the center where you have your oil cooler. I handled that problem by going with a larger radiator with a built in oil cooler. There are some others on the forum that have two coolers mounted in front of the A/C. The kit mounts the cooler to the radiator support bracket and the hoses come up through two notches cut into the center spoiler. The hoses run from the right rear wheel well through the rocker panel along the front cradle to the cooler. The cooler is only 6 inches high while your oil cooler looks to be about twice that height.

That is right. The cooler is either a Derale or Fluidyne unit. It is 11in x 6in. There isn't any link to the rest of the items. Some number of years ago the GMPP on line catalog had some pictures of the parts but I believe the catalog has changed. I just did a search on some of my old posts that might have had pictures in them but the forum links to those posts are listed as invalid links when I click on them.
