I am planning to install the A and A corvette exhaust kit. How bad is the resonance at 1000-1500 rpms? I have seen on the forum that the right side muffler on a A4 car is difficult to remove. Why?
There is no resonance. There is no need to remove the mufflers to install the bypass. In fact, the welder who did mine didn't even drop the mufflers. I kept a close eye on him, and he didn't burn anything.

I had resonance on my stock ´98 at 2000 to 2500 rpm. This resonance got louder with the A&A mod, though the exhaust I used for the mod was out of a second C5. So, resonance depends on the configuration of the car.
But beside this, A&A mod is the best bang for the bucks.

How does A&A sound compared to the cat back systems? Seems like an inexpensive way to get a more aggressive sound.
They aren't as loud as Corsa Indy or B&B PRT, that we offer which are the most popular products out there according to this Forum's polls. I have had customers on the Forum switch to a full cat back a few months after the AA kit was installed because it wasn't loud enough for their tastes.
We also see customers and Forum Members who stick with it and like it. A local speed shop here has been 'bypassing' with tubes on the C5's for about 2 years for customers, even on the Indy and PRT's.

Hey Richard, does "bypassing" with tubes give the Corsa Indys more of a growl? I need help. Nick mufflerholic. :)
Hey Nick. I did a mod on the Corsa once before. It sounds good but there's a problem. The muffler splits from the axle hoop right by ther muffler. After you weld in the mod, it will no longer split. You have to be absolutely certain that the tips are where you want them. You can't move them afterwards. I personally have a B&B Triflo with the A&A Mod. It sounds great. They split in a different place so the mod has no effect on whether you can take them apart. Although I'm not sure why I'm telling you all this. You won't be happy untill you're running around with uncorked headers. :D :D :D
I put this on both vettes of mine. love it. there is some popping on decel that an xpipe should take care of. They are very similar to other aftermarket setups. :smash: :smash:
Sorry Andy, I got mine from a local vette shop, trying to keep him alive in the slow season. :blueangel:
almost forgot, slight resonance in the 2-2500 range but that is during accel. never in that range just cruising on highway, unless in 4th and why do that?
